Book Sample
The book sample I am sharing here highlights a variety of skills in one project. I love history and ghost stories - both capture the imagination and allow us to walk in the steps of those who have gone before us. I wrote this story back in 2003. Last year historic photos were given to me of the actual site that I had written about. The setting is along the old Nickel Plate Railroad line that ran through Edwardsville and the Madison County area in IL. I grew up and still reside in this area and I love the history, so when this opportunity came up I had to do it. I took photographs of the home as it is today and scanned and used the old photographs and together I used these to create a bookcover and illustrate the story. I gave a copy to the current homeowners as a gift - which they really enjoyed. It was a great project - so much fun!
